About Us - StellaTine Arise Care Uganda

StellaTine Arise Care Uganda picks inspiration from the names Stella and Christine. Stella is the name of the mother of Fr. Vincent De Paul Rutaremwa Asiimwe who is the founder of StellaTine Arise Care Uganda. Stella Kyofuna brought up Fr. Vincent de Paul through hardships and struggles of all kinds. This was the moment where his mother taught her children to trust in God by praying everyday. This inspired in the little Vincent the fear of God, but also the desire to serve Him above everything. It’s not by surprise that the young Vincent grew up and later entered the seminary to become a servant of God. But to understand the name Stellatine we also need to understand the combining of these two names.

Christine Kyosiimire, an elder sister to Fr. Vincent de Paul, was born with cerebral palsy, which always limited her body movements. This situation in the family was another challenging moment of life journey. As we grew up we couldn’t understand why our sister was not walking well, why we couldn’t move anywhere and leave her alone. But Christine was a sign of God’s presence in our family even when everything seemed to be difficult for our mother in terms of caring for her and seeking for assistance from well wishers.

The situation was never easy for all of us in terms of feeding, education and other needs and on top of that a great attention was needed for the special paralyzed child. Christine will continue to be a source of hope that God never abandons his suffering people. God never abandoned Fr. and now many children are beneficiaries of what Fr. didn’t receive in his life as a children or an adolescent. Today many poor children of his old time are able to afford school fees due to this great in God and inspiration. These are some of reasons behind the name Stellatine just to keep the memory of these two personalities in my life.

The logo of the project is comprised of a hand and a dove. The dove signifies the Holy Spirit. The hand signifies sharing in humanity. But it is difficult for a human being to share unless the Holy Spirit inspires him or her. The heads represent the great impact the project intends to have on lives of many most especially the poor children.

Therefor this organization is inspired to bring a smiling face to many hopeless lives in Ibanda and other places by supporting them to get school fees. As human being who has passed through many suffering and difficult moments, we need to be a source of hope to much young generation. And since there is no way a society can be changed in the 21st century without education. This organization has its future plan in fighting illiteracy among the poor families.
